About Salesmuser

I’m a professional salesman. Were you in awe when you read that I’m a salesman? It’s not quite the same as “I’m a neurosurgeon” or “I’m a CEO”, or “I’m a Professor of Philosophy”. Facts are facts: I’m a salesman. I couldn’t be more proud of my career choice.

Some days the comments I hear from my clients, work colleagues and even family make me feel like a jerk. You know, the proverbial “used car salesman.” It seems the stereotype of used car salesmen gets us all thrown into the same unremarkable bucket.

Think for a moment about what the world would be like without great salespeople. Would Apple be where they are without the genius salesmanship of Steve Jobs? A superior product or service alone won’t get throngs of people lined up to buy. It takes great selling and great sellers to make it happen.

I choose to focus on the good and not the negative of my profession. The friendships I’ve made are priceless. Learning how different industries operate energizes me to learn more. Guiding clients to be more efficient, sell more of their products and services or become a market leader is particularly meaningful work. Connecting people to new career opportunities is very satisfying too. There it is, the true elixir of sales; it’s all about helping others.

At Salesmuser, you’ll find my selling stories and the selling stories of our peers. You don’t need to be in sales to benefit from Salesmuser. We’re all selling something. Learning from real selling stories is the best way I know to improve selling skills. Finally, I hope we’re all working to live and not living to work. This is why you’ll find useful information to help you in your personal life and family life too.

Sharing stories, helping others and having a good laugh or two: that’s Salesmuser.
